HTA: Hawaii vacation rentals performed better than hotels in February



The Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA) Vacation Rental Performance Report for February, 2021, showed that more people in Hawaii chose to stay in vacation rentals than hotels last month.

  1. the demand is still limited but will increase however the big roadblock for hotels is that most charge a resort fee and private rentals do not.

  2. They don't have to pay state and county taxes and no excise taxes too. No unions, no workers, just free money.
